چکیده

Ovarian Burkitt’s lymphoma is rare in adulthood. Metastatic spread from ovarian malignancies occurs most commonly to the peritoneum, with nodular thickening of the peritoneum and serosal surface of the bowel, omental thickening (omental cake) and ascites. Metastasis to the para-aortic lymph nodes and liver has also been reported. Nonetheless, to the best of our knowledge, metastasis to the retroperitoneum has not still been reported. Herein, we reported an ovarian Burkitt's lymphoma in a 20-year-old woman who presented with ascites, large bilateral ovarian masses, peritoneal and retroperitoneal metastasis. In evaluating any ovarian neoplasm with retroperitoneal metastasis in a young woman, Burkitt's lymphoma should be considered as a possibility.

The involvement of retroperitoneal lymph nodes in primary serous-papillary peritoneal carcinoma. a systematic review of the literature.

BACKGROUND Primary serous-papillary peritoneal carcinoma is able to spread to the retroperitoneal lymph nodes, but there is no evidence of the pattern of lymphatic metastasis. Because of the fact that this tumor entity is indistinguishable histologically from primary serous-papillary ovarian carcinoma, its taxonomic position has thus far remained unclear. MATERIALS AND METHODS The Medline dat...

Burkitt's Lymphoma Presented as Advanced Ovarian Cancer without Evidence of Lymphadenopathy: CT and MRI Findings

Burkitt's lymphoma is a rare non-Hodgkin's lymphoma which can occasionally involve the ovary and may cause confusion for the clinician since its presentation might mimic other much more frequent tumors. We present a case of a 23-year-old woman with sporadic Burkitt's lymphoma presented as advanced ovarian cancer with bilateral ovarian masses, peritoneal carcinomatosis, ascites, and marked eleva...

Highly elevated serum CA 125 in a lady with ascites and retroperitoneal mass--a diagnostic dilemma.

BACKGROUND Cancer antigen 125 (CA 125), a widely used tumor marker for monitoring epithelial ovarian cancer, is also found to be raised in non-gynecological tumors and non malignant disease involving peritoneum. We report a case of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma who presented with peritoneal and pleural effusions with a very high level of serum CA 125. CASE Fifty four years female presented with gros...

Primary peritoneal carcinoma is defined as an adenocarcinoma arising in the peritoneum, with or without minimum ovarian involvement. It was described for the first time by Martin A. Swerdlow in 1959 and since then it has been issue of investigation, but the knowledge we had about it is scant; however, the similarities with ovarian surface epithelial carcinoma are fascinating. Primary peritoneal...
